LASD sheriff's deputies are no strangers to excessive force police brutality lawsuits.
According to this abc7 news report, three recent lawsuits out of the Antelope Valley allege racism by deputies in addition to excessive force police brutality.
Meanwhile, another victim of LASD excessive force finally got justice from a jury. Deon Dirks was awarded $6 Million in damages for injuries and civil rights violations he suffered at the hands of LASD sheriff's deputies in 2007.
After being stopped for speeding, Dirks was beaten, harassed, pepper sprayed, arrested and shipped off to Men's Central Jail. His eye socket was broken.
Prosecutors later dismissed resisting arrest charges filed against him.
